What Does Stress Management Have To Do With Care Giving?

When is the last time that you asked yourself that question? Or for that matter, when is the last time your physician asked you that question?

Many times, the caregiver/care provider is so preoccupied with taking care of their dementia challenged loved one or the patient's needs that they lose sight of their own wellbeing.

Stress affects you as a caregiver emotionally and physically, marring the joy you could otherwise gain from life and loved ones. But, how do you manage stress in your role as a caregiver or care provider?

The important first step is to recognize your stress level in order to utilize options and solutions that can help manage the stress caused by the ongoing burdens of care giving.
